Bryony Smith

Credential/License Type
Clinical Counsellor / Counselling Therapist

I am a white, bisexual, cis gender female (she/her) Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Massachusetts and also a Board Certified Psychosynthesis Life Coach (working with clients all over the globe). My approach is collaborative, compassionate, playful, and always respectful of you as a unique individual.

I have an integrative approach to my work. My private practice is made up of elders, LGBTQIA+ folks, activists, parents, artists, fellow therapists/practitioners, folks navigating dementia, and caregivers.

Often, at least a third of my practice includes coaching or counseling individuals dealing with post-concussion (Traumatic Brain Injury) issues, for which I specialize in.

I am told I have a warm, open presence. Humility, humor, curiosity, and relational engagement are key aspects of my natural style and my values. I have been doing parts work with clients since 2017 (Gestalt training, then Psychosynthesis sub-personality work, then IFS training) and am committed to my own daily practice of tending to my parts (and working with an IFS practitioner regularly).

IFSCA Programs Completed
IFSCA Stepping Stones, Advanced Weekend
Additional Training & Credentials

“I have a Masters in Mental Health Counseling and am an IFSI Certified Therapist – Level 3 with Cece Sykes and Margaret Conley, IFS Level 2 with Ann Sinko, Ralph Cohen, and Margaret Conley, IFS Level 1 with Leslie Petruk and Gwen Hurd, and was a Program Assistant for an IFS Level 1 training (with Carmen Jimenez-Pride and David Kitchings, 2025).

I completed IFSCA Stepping Stones with Derek Scott (January – April 2023), Robyn Dickson, and Mel Gabraith. I have done live workshops/trainings with Martha Sweezy, Frank Anderson, Joanna Twombly, Bonnie Weiss, Chris Burris, Robert (Bob) Falconer working with Unattached Burdens (UBs, Critters), François Le Doze, Loch & Paige Kelly, as well as ongoing IFS consultation.

My training includes EMDR, the Flash Technique, Somatic/polyvagal practices, DBT, and Embodied Experiential Dreamwork (with Dr. Leslie Ellis).

I am a Certified Effortless Mindfulness Facilitator (a year-long training with Loch Kelly – Non-Dual Awake Awareness practice/Self Energy access).

I’ve been meditating (on and off) since 1991 (when I was 21 years old). I’ve sat over 50 week-long silent Insight Meditation retreats (and also practice with non-dual teachers as well as Dzogchen/Tibetan Buddhist teachers). My lifelong study of Buddhist Psychology fits naturally with IFS.”
