Specialization

I’ll work with you and your parts. Your parts may hold intense feelings (eg depression, anxiety, fear) or may be stuck in extreme roles (eg striving, controlling, evaluating, or engaged in using alcohol/drug, cutting, binge-eating, having sex). While I appreciate any disorder you may have diagnosed with, I am curious about how your various constellations of parts have organized and continue to be present in your life in undesirable ways. I would like to guide you to access more Self energy so your parts can release intense feelings or modify or give up their behaviours. Classic IFS!

About

I first met one of my own distressed parts in therapy a decade ago, and with the guidance of my therapist (psychodynamically trained), I was able to integrate that part into myself. I felt an immediate shift and throughout the years guided students and then clients to integrate parts of themselves in similar ways. It wasn’t until early 2022 when I read Richard Schwartz’ book Internal Family Systems Therapy did my approach to working with clients shift to their significant and obvious benefit. Later that year, I participated in Derek Scott’s Stepping Stone course, immediately followed by his Advanced Weekend course. I view IFS as a gift to humanity. Not only does this approach have an effect on how you feel in your daily life, but it has reaches into spiritual dimensions as well.  Additionally, I am trained in a trauma-informed approach, psychodynamic psychotherapy and CBT.
