This introductory workshop will cover: Presentation of the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model of therapy and will include experiential exercises (such as guided meditations) as well as didactic presentations. A video of a full IFS session will be shown as well as a live demonstration with a volunteer. Questions about the applicability of the model to specific populations (Trauma, LGBT, Couples, Addicts etc) will be addressed as will questions arising throughout the course of the day.

The goals for this day are for you:
- To learn and understand the basics of the IFS model including the 3 types of parts we typically encounter in session, and introduce the concept of Self energy
- To have an understanding of working with Protectors, your own Therapist parts, and Unburdening the Exiles
- To understand how the model may be applied to specific concerns and populations: trauma, couples, addiction, grief, gender and sexual orientation etc.
- To witness a demonstration of the model
- To be able to ask as many questions as you need and know where to go for further information
